Het idee is leuk, maar weet je wel zeker dat je nu suikervrij eet? Ken jij alle namen van suiker?<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"\">Etiketten lezen.<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\">Ik kan het niet makkelijker maken, het is echt de kleine lettertjes op de verpakking afstruinen voor de namen van suiker.&nbsp; Daarmee begint het pas. Want hoe heet suiker eigenlijk? Er zijn maar weinig verpakkingen die vermelden dat er suiker in zit. De meeste fabrikanten doen hun uiterste best om het woord suiker te vermijden. Er zijn dan ook minstens <span>160 verschillende namen<\/span> in omloop voor de suikers die aan je product toegevoegd kunnen zijn.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"\">Hoe ga je hiermee om?<\/h3>\n<p style=\"\">Vermijdt alle verpakkingen waar het woord .<span>&#8230;suiker<\/span> op staat.Let op de toevoegingen met de woorden <span>&#8230;.stroop, &#8230;.siroop, &#8230;.nectar <\/span>en <span>honing<\/span>. Dit is allemaal pure toegevoegde suiker.Geef aandacht aan de woorden die eindigen op <span>-ose<\/span>.-ose geeft aan dat er suiker in zit. Denk maar aan <span>glucose, fructose, lactose, maltose<\/span> etc.Zoek de woorden die eindigen op <span>-ol<\/span> op met google.Veel zogenaamde <span>suikeralcoholen<\/span> eindigen op -ol. Verwar dit niet met gewone alcohol. Dit zijn <span>suikervervangende zoetstoffen<\/span>. Sommigen komen heel veel voor. In kauwgum en tandpasta. Denk maar aan mannitol, xylitol, ethylmaltol en dat soort moeilijke woorden.<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">Hieronder geef ik een opsomming van de verschillende namen die voor suiker gebruikt wordt op verpakkingen. Hierin staan geen zoetstoffen (zoals aspartaam of bovengenoemde suikeralcoholen). Ik zou graag willen dat deze lijst compleet is. Helaas zijn voedselfabrikanten erg creatief in het bedenken van nieuwe namen om ons alsnog om de tuin te leiden. Er worden ook veel suikernamen uit andere talen geleend om ons te verwarren (zoals gula djawa). Het eten van suiker stimuleert namelijk het eten van nog meer suiker. Hoe dit werkt zie je in het filmpje &#8220;how sugar affects the brain&#8221; van Nicole Avena. Als we meer willen van hetzelfde product, zullen we meer kopen en zal de fabrikant meer verdienen. Zo maken ze ons verslaafd aan hun product en verslaafd aan suiker.
